The development comes days after five people were killed by suspected gunmen near Old Oyo National Park within the same local government area, deepening anxiety among locals. Although the authenticity of the notes remains unverified, the messages have sparked panic and heightened security concerns.
Reacting, the Oyo State Police Command said it had not officially received the notes but confirmed that investigations had commenced following public awareness of the threat. Residents are now calling for increased security presence as the alleged Oyo bandit threat continues to generate tension across the area.
