“Opposition is Dead” – Yarin Fika, Dumps Party for APC, Declares for Governor Buni

In a significant political realignment, a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Yobe State, Alhaji Sani Adamu Yarin Fika, has officially defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring that the opposition in the state is effectively “dead.”

The defection was formally announced during a ceremony in Damaturu, the state capital, and confirmed in a statement by the Director-General of Press and Media Affairs to Governor Mai Mala Buni.

Yarin Fika, a strong political force from the state’s Zone B senatorial district, attributed his move to Governor Buni’s commendable commitment to the development of Yobe State. “I was attracted into the APC by Governor Buni’s commitment to developing the state,” he stated, pledging to contribute significantly to the governor’s achievements.

In a bold declaration that signals a major blow to the PDP, Yarin Fika announced that his supporters across the senatorial district had moved with him to the APC. “I want you to mark my words, PDP and any other form of opposition in Yobe State is dead,” he boasted.

The State APC Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Gadaka, welcomed the defection, describing it as a major gain for the party and assuring Yarin Fika of full integration and equal opportunities. Governor Buni also personally welcomed the new entrants, stating that their membership would strengthen the APC’s presence in Potiskum, Zone B, and the entire state.
