A Magistrates’ Court in Akure, Ondo State, has ordered the remand of 37-year-old Azubike Ugochukwu over alleged housebreaking and theft of property valued at ₦22,594,000.
Ugochukwu was arraigned on a three-count charge after the police accused him and others at large of breaking into the home of one Adara Rawlings on May 19, 2025, at Ondo Road, Akure. According to the prosecutor, Adebayo Sulaiman, the suspects stole several high-value gadgets, including multiple Samsung and Apple devices, laptops, accessories, jewellery, and ₦35,000 cash.
The police also told the court that the defendant absconded after being released to a surety, but was later rearrested in Ikorodu, Lagos.
Magistrate Damilola Sekoni ordered his remand at Olokuta Correctional Centre and adjourned the case to January 19, 2026.
