The ongoing public dispute between billionaire politician Ned Nwoko and the family of his wife, actress Regina Daniels, has taken a dramatic new turn. An old video interview of Regina’s mother, Rita Daniels, has resurfaced online, directly contradicting previous claims about the actress’s age at the time of her marriage.
The resurfaced BBC Pidgin interview shows Rita Daniels stating clearly that her daughter was “nearly 20 years old” when she married Ned Nwoko. This revelation directly challenges Regina Daniels’ own previous statement where she claimed she got married at 17 years old.
In the video, a confident Rita Daniels also addressed the widespread criticism that followed the union, asserting that her daughter was genuinely in love with the politician and made the decision to marry at a young age herself.
This contradiction emerges amidst a bitter public fallout between Nwoko and Regina’s family. The politician had recently made stunning allegations, claiming he transferred an estimated ₦125 million to Rita Daniels over two years, placed family members on monthly allowances, and bought a house for Regina in Asaba.
The feud escalated when Regina’s brother, Sammy (also known as Sweezzy), currently in detention, was accused by Nwoko of harassing his children and staff. In a counter-allegation, Sweezzy publicly claimed that Nwoko’s son died due to “excessive drug intake,” a claim that has further fueled the intense family drama.
