The Obidient Movement Worldwide has declared it will remain in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) regardless of the outcome of the party’s presidential primary.
National Coordinator of the movement, Tanko Yunusa, said supporters of former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi, are committed to democratic principles and will respect the party’s decision, even if former Vice President Atiku Abubakar emerges as the ADC flagbearer.
Yunusa stated that the Obidient Movement would contest fairly within the party, expressing confidence that Obi’s wide grassroots appeal would give him an edge. However, he stressed that loyalty to the ADC would not be in doubt if the primary does not favour their preferred candidate.
According to him, remaining in the party would help strengthen ADC’s democratic process and give it renewed political relevance ahead of the 2027 general election.
