Abdulmumin Jibrin, a member of the House of Representatives, has strongly rejected claims that President Bola Tinubu is responsible for Nigeria’s rising insecurity.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) chieftain described such accusations as “false and unfounded,” stressing that security challenges predate Tinubu’s administration.
Jibrin emphasized that Tinubu retains strong political support in the North, despite criticisms, warning that it would be a “dangerous calculation” to assume otherwise.
He acknowledged that while some northerners want Tinubu out, many others back his leadership. The same, he argued, applies across other regions of the country.
The lawmaker, a long-time ally of Tinubu, expressed confidence in the president’s political future, boldly declaring that “nothing will stop him from winning in 2027.”
