A fresh wave of verbal warfare has erupted following the dramatic courtroom outburst of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, during his trial at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
In a widely circulated video from the proceedings, Kanu was seen in a state of visible fury, openly challenging the presiding judge. He questioned the court’s grasp of the law and accused it of disregarding the Nigerian Constitution and a previous Supreme Court judgment.
Amidst the tension, Kanu was heard declaring, “You have no idea what justice means, you don’t know what justice means,” a statement that has since ignited reactions across the political spectrum.
Responding to the incident, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, launched a scathing attack on the IPOB leader via his official Facebook page. Igbokwe stated that Kanu’s behaviour indicates that “the center can no longer hold,” suggesting the separatist leader has lost his composure.
Igbokwe further asserted that Kanu is “overrated” and claimed that “the blood of thousands of people he killed are speaking,” directly blaming him for the loss of lives linked to the separatist agitation in the South-East region.
