Nigerian Student’s Visa Revoked in UK Over Work Hour Violation

A young Nigerian student in the United Kingdom has faced serious consequences after breaching the conditions of her visa by working more than the permitted 20 hours a week. The individual, identified as Onyinye, shared her plight in an emotional video, revealing that she moved to the UK in 2022 to pursue a BSc degree.

Tragically, during her studies, her father, who was her financial sponsor, passed away, leaving her without support. In her video, Onyinye expressed the challenges she faced, stating that she had to work extra hours to cover her tuition fees.

Unbeknownst to her, this overwork led to a breach of her study visa conditions. The Home Office subsequently contacted her, revoking her visa and instructing her to return to Nigeria.

In her heartfelt message, Onyinye lamented, “A journey of 3 years…a journey I wanted to celebrate so much. I’ve been in the UK for 3 years. I came in 2022; it’s been hell. In 2023, my dad passed away, he was my sponsor. I was left in a state of nowhere. Nobody to run to…”

@flourish007 said: “I’m confused by this. She’s being asked to go back to her home country and gets emotional on camera about it. Wasn’t she prepared to return earlier? If you don’t adhere to visa rules, there are consequences. It’s straightforward.”
