A young Nigerian man has stirred reactions online after revealing his sister’s ungrateful response despite his efforts in sponsoring her education from start to finish.
The man, identified on X (formerly Twitter) as @ifesinachiiiii, shared a screenshot of his sister’s WhatsApp status, which he stumbled upon shortly after her graduation ceremony.
The Sister’s Post
In the screenshot, his sister appeared indifferent to her brother’s role in her academic journey. She wrote:
“Lol… it’s quite alright. I told you I’m graduating next month, even announced it for the family group chat. And now I’ve graduated and you’re expecting me to come tell you again that I’ve graduated instead of saying congratulations… it’s all well.”
Brother’s Reaction
Responding to the post, Ifesinachi expressed his disappointment, disclosing that he was solely responsible for her tuition and upkeep throughout her years in school.
He wrote:
“I saw this one through school single-handedly, I mean 100%. Then after graduation, all the ‘brother thank you for all your sacrifices’ was this status. Lol.”
Online debate
The post has since stirred conversations online, with many sympathising with him while others argued that his sister may have expected acknowledgement without needing to repeat herself.
