Former Senate Whip, Ali Ndume, says the Nigerian military is recording visible success in the fight against insurgency, following renewed collaboration with the United States. Speaking on ARISE TV, Ndume noted that intelligence sharing and limited equipment support have strengthened operations, especially in the North East.
He revealed that troops now have access to key former strongholds such as Sambisa Forest, Mandara Mountains and parts of the Lake Chad region. According to him, the dry season has also improved visibility, giving security forces an operational advantage.
Ndume, however, stressed that the battle is not yet over. He said the military still requires advanced training, better equipment, improved motivation and adequate ammunition to sustain the gains already made.
While acknowledging progress, the lawmaker warned against complacency, urging continued support for the armed forces until insurgency is fully defeated across the country.
