NDLEA Raids Lagos Nightclub, Arrests Pretty Mike, Over 100 Others at Drug Party

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested popular Lagos socialite Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, better known as Pretty Mike, alongside over 100 other suspects, during a midnight raid on Proxy Nightclub, located at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The raid, which took place in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, 2025, followed credible intelligence that a large-scale drug party was being held at the venue.

According to the NDLEA, its undercover operatives infiltrated the event around 11 p.m. on Saturday and waited until 3 a.m. before executing the raid in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Cartons of illicit drugs, including “loud” (a potent cannabis strain) and laughing gas (nitrous oxide), were recovered from both the suspects and the club’s storehouse.

All arrested individuals, including Pretty Mike, were taken into custody for screening and further investigation.

The agency’s spokesperson confirmed that the raid is part of NDLEA’s intensified nationwide clampdown on drug-related nightlife activities, warning club owners and event organizers to desist from promoting narcotics use.

Meanwhile, in other coordinated anti-narcotics operations across Nigeria, NDLEA operatives recorded major breakthroughs:

  • 3.6kg of cocaine concealed in cocoa butter body cream containers was intercepted at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, en route to London, UK, with three suspects arrested, including a travel agency CEO.
  • A Lesotho national, Lemena Mark (35), was caught at Enugu Airport attempting to export methamphetamine disguised as herbal coffee to the Philippines.
  • In Kwara, NDLEA officers arrested Umar Abubakar (40) with 21,950 tramadol capsules hidden inside a water heater.
  • In Taraba, two men were nabbed with 450,000 pills of Tramadol and Exol-5, while 162kg of skunk was seized on the Okene-Lokoja highway.
  • A Lekki-based mother of two, Oyonumoh Glory Effiong, was arrested for distributing Canadian and California Loud across Lagos Island.
  • NDLEA also seized 275 litres of “skuchies”, a cocktail of drugs and soft drinks, from a suspect in Ikorodu, and arrested a 75-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman in Abia State with large quantities of skunk.

The NDLEA reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling all drug syndicates and urged Nigerians to resist any form of substance abuse.

“No one is above the law. Whether in nightclubs, airports, or border towns — NDLEA will go after every trafficker, user, or promoter of drugs,” the agency stated.
