The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says two Alpha Jet pilots safely ejected on Saturday after their aircraft developed an in-flight emergency during a post-inspection functional check flight at NAF Base, Kainji, Niger State.
According to Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the pilots steered the jet away from residential areas before ejecting, preventing casualties. They are currently undergoing routine medical evaluation.
Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, praised their courage and ordered a Board of Inquiry to investigate the cause of the incident.
NAF also reassured Nigerians of its commitment to safety, operational excellence, and protection of lives and property.
