Messi’s Heartfelt Desire: “I Want to Return to Barcelona,” He Declares

In a revelation that will excite football fans worldwide, Inter Miami captain Lionel Messi has openly expressed his strong desire to return to his former club, FC Barcelona, once the redevelopment of the Nou Camp stadium is completed. The Argentine legend’s emotional connection to the club remains profound years after his departure.

Messi, who left Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain in 2021 and now plays in the MLS, recently made a sentimental visit to the club. He took to social media to share a picture of himself inside the stadium with the caption, “Last night I returned to a place I miss with my soul.”

However, in a more detailed interview with Diario Sport, the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner elaborated on his deep-seated longing to return. “I really want to go back to Barça stadium when it’s finished because since I left for Paris I didn’t go back to Camp Nou either, and then they went to Montjuïc. It’s going to be special, I’m sure,” Messi stated.

The football icon further revealed that his entire family shares this sentiment. He explained, “I really want to go back, because we miss Barcelona a lot, the children continuously, and my wife, I talk about things about Barcelona, the idea of living there again. We have our house, everything, so that’s what we want.” This announcement has sparked widespread speculation about a potential future role for Messi at the club he served for over two decades.
