In a heartfelt revelation, Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy, has spoken candidly about his struggles with love, marriage, and emotional vulnerability, despite years of fame and success.
Speaking during an interview with HabbyFX on YouTube on Monday, the 42-year-old music producer reflected on his past, including his brief marriage in 2003 that ended two years later, and how it shaped his cautious outlook on relationships.
Don Jazzy noted that while he grew up seeing beautiful love stories — like that of his parents — he’s also witnessed enough heartbreaks to make him wary of long-term commitment.
“There are good ones and bad ones. My parents were madly in love before my mom died… We see examples that make you want love, but the fear comes when you see people exposing each other’s secrets after breakups,” he said.
💬 Focus on Self-Growth
The Mavin CEO revealed that his priorities have shifted over the years, choosing personal growth and peace of mind over societal pressure to marry. He admitted that public scandals and relationship drama often discourage him from taking the leap again.
“You try to be vulnerable with one person, and it ends up out there. I’m still waiting for God’s time. They say when you find the one, you’ll feel butterflies,” he added.
💰 Money and Marriage Worries
Don Jazzy also expressed concern about the financial risks of marriage, citing stories of men losing half their wealth after divorce.
“A man works hard all his life, then during divorce, everything is split. Those things scare me. The money I’ve made is for my generation,” he said.
Despite his fears, Don Jazzy insists he hasn’t given up on love entirely.
“I’ve dated before. I’m single now. It’s fear, but I believe in God’s time. I just want the right person… if I’m even the right one for somebody’s daughter,” he confessed.
