Manchester United is set to negotiate with Cameroon, Morocco, and Ivory Coast to delay the departures of key squad members for this year’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The players involved are Bryan Mbeumo, Noussair Mazraoui, and Amad Diallo.
This year’s AFCON is scheduled from December 21 to January 18, potentially leaving United without them during a critical period.
Manager Amorim remains optimistic about reaching agreements with their respective football associations.
United aims to have the players available for their match against Wolves on December 8 and the home game against Bournemouth on December 15.
“We are trying to have the players a bit longer, but we will see. I think it is two weeks before the start. We will try to arrange something with the federations,” Amorim stated.
“We already knew about AFCON, so it is an opportunity for other players. It is not ideal as they are crucial to our squad,” he added.
