A Nigerian man has stirred massive reactions online after revealing that he ended his relationship with his girlfriend the very first day he visited her family.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the user identified as Richmond said he made the decision after his girlfriend’s two elder brothers begged him for money during his initial visit to their home.
“I ended a relationship couple of years ago because the first time I visited her family, her two elder brothers begged me for money,” Richmond wrote.
His revelation quickly went viral, attracting thousands of comments from Nigerians who either applauded or criticized his decision.
Many users supported him, calling the brothers’ behavior a “red flag.” One user, Mr Xperience, wrote: “Valid ooo! Apart from becoming the entire family’s breadwinner, you go just inherit foundational problems you no plan for.”
Another commenter, Mother Land, added: “First time visit and her brothers already asking for money? That’s a major red flag. It says a lot about the family.”
