Nicolas Maduro Guerra, son of Venezuela’s former president, Nicolas Maduro, has called for mass protests following his father’s dramatic capture by United States forces. The appeal came through an audio message circulated on social media, urging supporters to resist what he described as an attempt to silence their movement.

Maduro Guerra accused unnamed insiders of betraying his father, as speculation grows over how US operatives carried out the swift operation in Caracas. He insisted that supporters would remain visible on the streets, flying what he called “the flag of dignity.”

The former president and his wife, Cilia Flores, were extradited to the United States shortly after the raid and are currently detained in New York ahead of legal proceedings. Maduro is expected to appear before a federal judge to face narcoterrorism charges.

Meanwhile, Venezuela’s Vice President, Delcy Rodriguez, has been sworn in as acting president, as tensions remain high across the country.
