Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has stirred heated controversy after revealing that she personally introduced her 17-year-old daughter, Simisola, to clubbing and alcohol.
The actress made the shocking disclosure in an interview with media personality Mr. Lilgaga, stressing that ages 17 and 18 are formative years when young people should be exposed to “life’s realities.”
Laide Bakare on Clubbing With Her Daughter
“I’m the first person that will bring her to a club. That was her first club experience ever. I love the fact that in her memory, she will say my very first clubbing and alcoholic drink was from my mum,” Bakare stated.
The actress further addressed the online buzz about her daughter’s body physique, saying:
“She’s 17 now, that’s just how we are in our family. Even me, I’m 44.”
Academic Milestones and Love Life
This revelation comes months after Bakare celebrated Simisola’s high school graduation in Canada at just 16, where she achieved an impressive 4.80 GPA.
On her personal life, the actress disclosed she has doubts about ever falling in love again, adding:
“I doubt if I can fall in love. Money and love together — that combo must be complete. I’ve been broke, I’ve been down, and I came back again.”
Her statement has since gone viral, sparking mixed reactions online, with many questioning whether such exposure at 17 is appropriate parenting or misguided freedom.
