A Nigerian lady has stirred massive reactions on social media after sharing a video of a ₦1.5 million self-contained apartment in Lagos that left many questioning its worth.
The TikTok user, identified as @millicentina1, posted a tour of the apartment, showing both the interior and exterior conditions. In the viral video, an elderly man — believed to be the property agent — is seen taking her around the building.
However, what caught the attention of viewers was the dilapidated state of the apartment. Cracks lined the exterior walls, while the interior appeared rough and unfinished. A plumber could also be seen working inside, and the walls had a greenish, unappealing look.
Despite the poor condition, the rent was pegged at ₦1.5 million per year, sparking an uproar among Nigerians who felt the price didn’t match the property’s value.
In her caption, Millicentina lamented her house-hunting experience, writing: “POV: You went house hunting in Lagos with a ₦1.5m budget. Nothing wey I never see for this Lagos self-contain o.”
The video has since gone viral, amassing over 6,000 likes and hundreds of comments, with many users calling it another proof of Lagos’ outrageous housing costs.
