The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has accused Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of neglecting the rising insecurity and banditry crisis in the state.
This comes after a deadly attack on Sunday in Oke-Ode, Ifelodun Local Government Area, where several residents and local vigilante members were killed by armed bandits.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Kwara PDP condemned the state government’s alleged failure to protect citizens. The opposition party stressed that the increasing wave of attacks has left rural communities vulnerable, calling on Governor AbdulRazaq to take decisive action before the situation worsens.
The PDP further urged security agencies to step up their operations, warning that continued silence and inaction could deepen the sense of hopelessness among citizens.
The tragic attack in Oke-Ode adds to growing concerns about the spread of insecurity in North-Central Nigeria, with communities in Kwara, Niger, and Kogi states coming under repeated assaults.
