Kwara APC Dares Saraki to Openly Declare Loyalty, Rejects Backdoor Politics

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State has challenged former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, to openly declare his political loyalty instead of allegedly maintaining discreet engagements with party leaders in Abuja.

State APC chairman, Sunday Fagbemi, made the call while reacting to reports that Saraki has been holding consultations at the federal level. He urged the former governor to formally defect to the APC in Kwara and submit himself to the party’s leadership under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

Fagbemi dismissed claims of Saraki’s continued influence in the state, noting that the APC has defeated his political structure in successive elections and absorbed many of his former loyalists. He further accused Saraki of struggling to remain relevant after losing control of the state.

While stressing that the APC harbours no ill will against Saraki, Fagbemi insisted that transparency and openness must guide any genuine political realignment.
