NNPP national leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has clearly stated the terms under which he would join any political alliance ahead of the next general election.
Speaking to supporters in Kano, the former defence minister said he is open to mergers or coalitions but will only align with a party willing to offer him either the presidential or vice presidential ticket.
Kwankwaso’s stance comes amid growing talks linking him to possible moves into major opposition platforms and pressure from the ruling party to support continuity at the centre. Despite the intense political lobbying, he insisted that his political relevance and experience must be recognised in any alliance.
The NNPP leader, who contested the last presidential election on his party’s platform, maintained that he remains focused on negotiations that respect his political weight and the aspirations of his supporters nationwide.
