Kano Community in Fear After Armed Robbery

Residents of Gulu in Rimin Gado Local Government Area of Kano State are living in fear following an armed robbery attack on Thursday night. A group of armed men, believed to be robbers, invaded the community, causing panic among the residents.

Hamza Haruna Gulu, a resident, confirmed the incident, stating that the attackers arrived around 8 p.m. They initially fired shots at the town’s market before targeting the shop of Malam Isa Mai Dusa.

According to Haruna, the robbers continued shooting as they entered the shop, making away with a large amount of money. The gang was reported to consist of about four to six armed individuals.

The sound of gunshots resulted in widespread panic, Haruna revealed. “Some of them entered the shop, while the others stayed outside. We were terrified; we have not seen something like this before,” he said.

He also pointed out that no security personnel were present in the area until Friday morning. The community had a police station about 30 years ago, but it has since been removed. Haruna appealed to the authorities to restore the station for the protection of the people.
