Kaduna Police Rescue 10 Kidnap Victims, Including Children, After Five Months in Captivity

The Kaduna State Police Command has successfully rescued ten kidnap victims, including three children aged one, three, and thirteen, who were abducted by bandits in Kagarko Local Government Area since May 2025.

According to a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, the victims were kidnapped when heavily armed bandits attacked Kushe Makaranta village, taking the victims into a dense forest near the Rijana community.

The victims — Helen Abraham, Rosemary Elisha, Jummai Istifanus, Hauwa’u Sule, Mary Sunday, Kelvin Abraham, Devine Elisha, Jeremiah Istifanus, Christabeth Abraham, and Hauwa Sulaiman — were rescued on October 7 after a joint operation involving the Police, DSS, and military personnel.

Hassan said the rescue followed sustained operational pressure that forced the kidnappers to abandon their victims and flee their hideout.

The victims were immediately taken to the Police Clinic for medical attention, where they received care for two days before being reunited with their families.

The Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, commended the operatives for their dedication and professionalism, assuring residents that the Command remains committed to combating banditry and ensuring the safety of all citizens across the state.
