Jim Iyke Breaks Silence on His Short-Lived Music Career: “It Humbled Me”

Nollywood star Jim Iyke has opened up about his brief foray into music, describing it as a humbling chapter in his life rather than a failed venture.

In a candid interview with Saturday Punch, the actor revealed that stepping into the music industry was more of a personal challenge than a professional pursuit.

Naija News reports that Jim Iyke recalled collaborating with legendary singer 2Baba, an experience he described as exciting but one that taught him valuable lessons about self-awareness and boundaries.

According to him, while he could have pursued music further, it might have left him struggling for relevance like many artistes who fade after early success.

He clarified that he doesn’t view the experience with bitterness but as a learning curve that broadened his outlook on the entertainment industry.

“Doing music was a regrettable experience; not in a bitter way, but in a humbling one. At that point, it was just fun. 2Baba and I had a great time with it. For me, it was a dare, a phase when I thought I could do anything,” Jim Iyke explained.

The actor added that music gave him insight into another creative world, but when the excitement wore off, he knew it was best to return to acting, where he has built a strong and lasting legacy.

However, Jim Iyke emphasized that no experience is wasted, noting that he could still become a music executive because his brief stint gave him valuable knowledge about the business.
