Nollywood star Jim Iyke has revealed emotional details about his journey through divorce, fatherhood, and personal growth, stressing that he has no intention of walking down the aisle again.
In an exclusive interview with Saturday Punch, the actor said parenting for him is about leading by example, not just words. He explained that his son mirrors his every action — from his dressing and posture to the way he speaks.
“I live deliberately because my son copies everything I do. I want him to see strength, restraint, and resilience, not a man consumed by drama,” Iyke said.
On remarriage, he firmly ruled out the possibility, recalling that his first marriage took place during one of the darkest times of his life — shortly after losing his mother. According to him, cultural differences and racial tensions made the union emotionally draining.
Despite the split, the actor maintained that he and his ex-wife have built a rare and admirable post-divorce relationship. He described her as a good person with whom he shares mutual respect and friendship.
“Today, we’re still friends and co-parents. My ex-wife sometimes picks me up from the airport with her new partner. She comes to me for advice, and we both prioritize stability for our son,” he revealed.
Jim Iyke concluded by saying his focus is on being intentional about fatherhood rather than pursuing another marriage.
