The ambition of Fuji legend Otunba Wasiu Ayinde Anifowoshe (KWAM1) to become the next Awujale of Ijebuland has hit a major setback as the Jadiara Royal House publicly disowned his claimed lineage.
In a statement issued on December 7, 2025, the head of the Jadiara Royal House, Otunba Prince Akinola Odedina, stated that no historical, documented, archaeological, or oral record links the musician to the royal family. He revealed that despite KWAM1’s declaration tying his eligibility to the Jadiara lineage, he has not submitted any form or documentation to prove such genealogy.
The statement was circulated to relevant government authorities, urging the Fusengbuwa Ruling Family not to consider KWAM1 for the Awujale succession pending credible evidence. The royal house assured the public it would continue providing updates as the matter evolves.
