The lingering feud between popular Nollywood actresses Iyabo Ojo and Lizzy Anjorin has once again resurfaced, as Ojo threatens to initiate fresh legal proceedings against her colleague over alleged defamatory remarks, curses, and threats directed at her family.
This latest development comes months after the Lagos State High Court, Osborne Division, struck out Iyabo Ojo’s ₦1 billion defamation suit against Lizzy Anjorin. The case was dismissed due to procedural irregularities, and Ojo’s counsel, Olabimpe Ajegbomogun, was ordered to pay ₦500,000 in costs to Anjorin’s lawyer, Ademola Olabiyi.
Taking to Instagram on Monday, Ojo revealed that her legal team has been documenting Anjorin’s repeated comments online for possible legal action.
“My legal team isn’t sleeping. They are taking note of everything. A wise person listens to learned counsel. Everything has its timing,” Ojo wrote.
Iyabo Ojo expressed deep concern over repeated insults, curses, and even alleged death wishes directed at her children and grandson by Lizzy Anjorin.
She wrote:
“The insults, curses, even death wishes Liz has directed at my family, especially my grandson, are heartbreaking. Most times, I struggle to hold my peace, but I choose to ignore the distractions. Who God has blessed, no one can curse.”
The actress explained that she had been focused on welcoming her first grandchild and supporting her daughter, Priscilla, but hinted that upon her return to Lagos, firmer legal steps would be taken.
The feud between the actresses dates back several years and has consistently spilled over into social media battles and courtrooms.
Tensions reportedly escalated after Ojo openly supported Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, the Iyaloja-General and daughter of President Bola Tinubu, who is married to Anjorin’s husband. This move allegedly triggered accusations and online attacks from Anjorin.
Since then, Anjorin has frequently used Facebook live sessions to mock Ojo, which has sparked parody videos on TikTok and other platforms.
Iyabo Ojo further accused Anjorin of being behind threats to her family, including a disturbing letter her daughter Priscilla allegedly received in May warning that their movements were being monitored.
The rivalry intensified further after a fire incident at Ojo’s Lagos office, which she linked to ongoing threats. She claimed that Lizzy Anjorin should be held responsible if anything happened to her or her family.
Despite previous legal setbacks, Ojo insists that her silence has been strategic, guided by legal advice and personal restraint. She emphasized in her Monday post that she is now ready to pursue legal redress.
“Silence can be powerful,” she noted, “but the time for legal redress is near.”
With lawsuits, online taunts, petitions, curses, and alleged threats shaping their rivalry, the dispute between Iyabo Ojo and Lizzy Anjorin remains one of Nollywood’s most bitter and publicised feuds.
