Isaac Fayose, younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, has criticised Nigerian Senate leaders over their conduct at an airport reception for President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu.
In a viral video, Fayose condemned the sight of senior lawmakers lining up on the airport tarmac to welcome Seyi Tinubu, who arrived on a presidential jet. He described the action as embarrassing and a display of political “eye-service,” noting that such protocol is traditionally reserved for the President, Vice President, or visiting Heads of State.
Fayose argued that Seyi Tinubu holds no constitutional office to warrant such honour, warning that excessive glorification of presidential family members risks turning democratic governance into a monarchy. The incident has since triggered widespread debate, with Nigerians divided over protocol abuse and leadership priorities.
