IPOB Lawyer Warns Against Rushed Appeal in Nnamdi Kanu Case

The lead counsel to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has cautioned that any hurried appeal against the recent judgment on Nnamdi Kanu may collapse without strong political groundwork and coordinated strategic planning.

Ejiofor issued the warning in a detailed letter shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday, emphasizing that strategy—not emotions or public theatrics—must direct the next steps in the case.

Ejiofor Calls for Strategy, Not Emotion

He lamented that heightened emotions, misinformation, and loud public commentary were distracting genuine supporters. According to him, this is a critical moment that requires calm reasoning rather than dramatic public statements.

Ejiofor disclosed that many concerned individuals from different parts of the world have reached out, worried about Kanu’s legal prospects following his life sentence delivered by the Federal High Court.

He stressed that without a proper political pathway and high-level engagement, any legal appeal filed in haste would likely fail.
