‘Insensitive, Devoid of Empathy’ – Labour Party Knocks Tinubu Over Europe Trip

The Labour Party (LP) has criticised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s decision to travel to Europe amid worsening insecurity across Nigeria. The party’s Acting National Chairman, Nenadi Usman, described the trip as insensitive, arguing that the President should have remained in the country to coordinate urgent security responses. She noted that violent attacks, including a deadly bomb explosion in Zamfara State that reportedly claimed nine lives, underscore the gravity of the crisis.

Usman accused the Federal Government of downplaying what she termed an “external attack” on Nigeria and faulted the President for not convening key security meetings following recent U.S.-led airstrikes on terrorist camps in parts of the country. The LP insisted that the President’s absence at such a critical time raises serious concerns about leadership and empathy for affected citizens.
