Human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, has thrown his weight behind activist Precious Oruche, popularly known as Mama Pee, following her confrontation with the factional National Chairman of the Labour Party, Julius Abure, at the Abuja airport on Saturday, September 27, 2025.
Mama Pee made headlines after she accosted Abure at the tarmac, accusing him of being responsible for the lingering crisis within the Labour Party. The exchange, which drew public attention, later led to her detention for several hours at the Edo State Police Command.
Reacting to the incident in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Effiong justified Mama Pee’s action, arguing that Nigerians should hold politicians accountable in the same way.
He wrote: “What Mama P did to Julius Abure is what Nigerians should be doing to 95% of politicians.”
Effiong’s remarks have sparked conversations on civic responsibility, with some Nigerians praising Mama Pee for her courage, while others cautioned against confrontations that could escalate into violence.
