INEC Sets Key Dates for Osun Voter Registration

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Osun State has announced the commencement of outstanding activities under Phase One of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.

According to a circular released by the Commission’s National Headquarters on Friday, this move aligns with the approved national timeline for the ongoing CVR, as stated by Musa Olurode, the Public Affairs Officer, on behalf of Dr. Mutiu Agboke, the Osun Resident Electoral Commissioner.

The initiative aims to ensure all eligible citizens have the opportunity to register, update their details, or verify their records ahead of future electoral processes.

“The Commission remains committed to ensuring that all eligible voters have an opportunity to register. Phase One of the exercise will continue until December 10, 2025, after which other key activities will follow,” the statement noted.

INEC announced that the printing of the Preliminary Register of Voters will occur between December 13 and 14, 2025, to facilitate preparations for the mandatory display of the register.

The display for claims and objections is scheduled from December 16 to 21, 2025. Registered voters and the general public are encouraged to visit the thirty local government offices of the Commission to verify their details.

During this seven-day period, the public is invited to raise claims or objections as necessary, emphasizing that public scrutiny remains vital for maintaining the accuracy of the voters’ register.

The Commission will address complaints from the display exercise on December 21, 2025, documenting and processing all submissions related to claims and objections.

Necessary updates to the register are set for December 22, 2025, to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the voter database.

The CVR exercise will resume for Phase Two on January 5, 2026. All eligible citizens who have not registered or need to update their details are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.

INEC reaffirms its dedication to consolidating Nigeria’s electoral process and urges the public to follow official communication channels for accurate information and to avoid misinformation.
