The African Democratic Congress in Imo State has recorded a major boost with the defection of top leaders from the Peoples Democratic Party and the Labour Party. The development followed the ADC Imo Mega Stakeholders’ Summit held in Owerri, where prominent political figures formally joined the party.
Those who defected include the PDP South East Zonal Woman Leader, Mrs Ifeyinwa Arodiogbo; Imo Labour Party Chairman, Innocent NwaDavid; former Commissioner, Dr Ngozi Njoku; and Chief Paul Mbadiwe. The event attracted political leaders and stakeholders from across the state.
Party leaders described the move as a strong signal of growing confidence in the ADC, noting that the wave of Imo ADC defections has reshaped the state’s opposition politics ahead of future elections.
