Former vice-presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Bishop Isaac Idahosa, has expressed strong confidence in the leadership of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, affirming that the former Kano governor stands as the nation’s most credible alternative for the presidency in 2027.
Idahosa, who was Kwankwaso’s running mate during the 2023 presidential election, made this declaration at the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the NNPP held in Abuja on Thursday.
In his address, Idahosa described Kwankwaso as the man who “circumcised him politically” and praised his political sagacity, integrity, and capacity to lead Nigeria out of its current challenges.
“First and foremost, it’s important I congratulate our national leader, our navigator, our pathfinder, the man that circumcised me politically, His Excellency, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso,” Idahosa said.
The NNPP chieftain further highlighted the party’s growing influence, citing its victory in the recent by-election which secured a seat in the House of Representatives. According to him, this success reflects the resilience and credibility of the NNPP under Kwankwaso’s leadership.
Idahosa maintained that Nigerians are looking to Kwankwaso for direction, stating:
“The only thing that made our party credible today is the credibility, sagacity, and integrity of my boss, the Madugu of Nigerian politics. He is the only credible alternative capable of restoring hope, equity, and justice to the Nigerian people.”
He further stressed that leadership should be about service to the people, not personal interests, declaring boldly:
“It is important to note that we have only two parties in Nigeria—NNPP and the others.”
With growing momentum, the NNPP continues to position itself as a formidable force ahead of the 2027 elections, riding on Kwankwaso’s political structure and mass appeal.
