‘I have been transformed by God’s grace’ – Akpabio Says, As He Commissions Catholic Rectory

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has attributed his political rise to the “special grace of God,” urging Nigerians to remain committed to serving God wherever they find themselves. Speaking on Saturday during the blessing and commissioning of the Regina Coeli Parish Rectory in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Akpabio said he has been “transformed” for national leadership, describing himself as the most ranked Christian in government.

He noted that contributing to the growth of the church, no matter how little, invites divine favour, adding that he will soon commission a new worship centre inside the National Assembly complex.

Catholic Bishop of Uyo, Most Rev John Ayah, praised Akpabio for supporting the church and advised him to ignore criticisms, insisting they come with his national relevance.
