A young Nigerian man has gone online to pour out his grief and anger after discovering through a DNA test that the man he had always called his father is not his biological parent.
The revelation came after his supposed father ordered a DNA test, allegedly because of the young man’s “stubborn behaviour.” Shockingly, the results confirmed they were not related — a discovery that led to his eviction from the family home.
Reacting to a recent report that ranked Nigeria second in global paternity fraud cases after Jamaica, the man, identified on X (formerly Twitter) as @Ememobong99, narrated his ordeal.
He painfully recalled how his late mother, who passed away when he was just 13, left him with no family ties and a surname that doesn’t even belong to him.
“After 19 years my dad realised I wasn’t his son after conducting a DNA test because of my stubborn behaviour and my mom died when I was 13. Omor till now I never fit move on from the trauma. 19 years of spending my whole life thinking my dad was my dad. Jesus Christ!! E no go better for my mama for that grave wey she dey so.
,” he wrote.
When asked by followers if he was truly sent out of the house, he confirmed:
“Yes na. If na you, wetin you for do I beg Taya.”
He further explained that he was born from an unwanted pregnancy after a one-night stand between his late mother and the man he thought was his father.
“Na unwanted pregnancy o. Baba no pay for nothing. Na one night stand based on the story wey them tell me. After giving birth to me they were never together again. I dey bear name for person wey no be my father. And I no sabi where I come from,” he added.
His story has since sparked emotional reactions online, with many Nigerians calling for stricter measures against paternity fraud and more support for victims of such devastating revelations.
