Popular Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington has revealed how she narrowly escaped death in June during a trip to the United Kingdom with her husband, Banky W, and their two sons.
In an emotional Instagram post, the Wedding Party star disclosed that she had to undergo an emergency, unplanned surgery following what she described as a “horrific incident.”
“I could have lost my life in June of this year. The surgery was ironically the least dramatic part of what I went through,” she wrote, expressing gratitude to God for sparing her life.
Adesua recounted that the incident occurred while she was in the UK for two speaking engagements. She said every small detail of that day worked in her favor — proof, to her, that divine intervention was at play.
“If one thing had gone differently that day, I wouldn’t be here. I could trace God’s hands all over the situation,” she said.
The award-winning actress said the near-death experience has deepened her faith and renewed her sense of purpose. She urged her fans to live intentionally, show love, and appreciate life more deeply.
“Let’s be softer, kinder, gentler, forgiving, patient, loving, and peaceful. I will never take another day for granted — neither should you,” she wrote.
Adesua, who has in the past shared her struggles with pregnancy complications and her husband’s battle with cancer, said her story is a reminder that God is real and life is fragile.
