Panic erupted on Tuesday when Sweden’s newly appointed Health Minister, Elisabet Lann, collapsed during her inaugural press conference. Eyewitnesses reported that Lann had just concluded her remarks, and while other attendees were sharing a lighthearted moment, she suddenly fell to the ground.
The incident prompted immediate action from government security personnel, who rushed to assist her as her lectern toppled over. Fortunately, Lann received prompt medical attention and later returned to the stage, explaining that her fainting spell was due to a drop in blood sugar levels.
Lann’s appointment as health minister was announced just a day prior, following the unexpected resignation of her predecessor, Acko Ankarberg Johansson, on September 9.
