A young Nigerian boy, Hope, once left to die after being accused of witchcraft, has achieved a remarkable milestone — graduating from primary school with top grades.
Years ago, Hope’s heartbreaking story went viral when Danish aid worker Anja Ringgren Lovén rescued him from the streets after he was abandoned and near death.
Today, thanks to the support of Lovén’s humanitarian organization Land of Hope, he is thriving against all odds.
Sharing the proud update, Lovén wrote:
“Hope survived. He graduated this year with one of the highest grades and will start secondary school next month. Despite being deaf, he communicates fluently in sign language. He is intelligent, artistic, a talented dancer, warm, caring, and full of humor.”
Hope’s transformation has become a global symbol of resilience, love, and second chances, reminding the world of the thousands of children who still face deadly accusations of witchcraft in Nigeria and beyond.
