The Human and Environmental Development Agenda (HEDA) has submitted a fresh petition to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), calling for an expanded investigation into alleged corruption involving former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.
In the petition dated December 23, 2025, HEDA cited new audit reports, investigative findings and legislative probes allegedly linked to Malami’s tenure as Justice Minister. The group claimed the Office of the Auditor-General indicted the Ministry of Justice over the mismanagement of ₦113.2 million in 2019 and questioned multi-billion-naira expenditures, including judgment debts and foreign travel allowances.
HEDA also referenced unresolved audit queries, missing payment vouchers, and alleged failure to enforce a Supreme Court judgment that could have yielded over $55 billion for Nigeria. The organisation urged the EFCC to recover public funds and prosecute all culpable persons.
