Former Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung, has narrated a disturbing encounter he had with a self-identified bandit during a TikTok conversation. Speaking to News Central, Dalung said the bandit justified their attacks by claiming vigilantes had killed their members and seized their cattle, pushing them into the bush to retaliate.
Dalung said the bandit admitted they also kill Fulani people in towns because they only recognise those living in the bush as “true Fulani.” He added that the bandit spoke with alarming confidence and revealed they were willing to negotiate disarmament.
Calling the situation troubling, Dalung urged the National Assembly to amend the constitution to allow Nigerians to bear arms for self-defence.
