Nigeria’s Flamingos produced a dominant display on Tuesday, defeating Samoa 4-0 in their final Group Stage match at the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup to seal a place in the Round of 16.
Bankole Olowookere’s girls showed class and composure, scoring three goals in the first half to put the game beyond reach.
Queen Joseph was the star of the show, grabbing a brace, while team captain Shakirat Moshood coolly converted from the penalty spot to make it 3-0 before halftime.
Moshood, however, missed another spot-kick early in the second half, but Azeezat Oduntan sealed the emphatic win with Nigeria’s fourth goal 12 minutes from time.
With the result, the Flamingos advanced as one of the best third-placed teams and will now face Italy in the Round of 16, as they continue their quest for glory on the world stage.
