Nigeria’s Super Eagles will close out 2025 ranked 38th in the world, according to the latest FIFA rankings released on Monday. The position remains unchanged from the previous update in November, when Nigeria climbed three places from 41st.
The Super Eagles also maintained their status as Africa’s sixth-best team, rounding off a year of mixed results but modest overall progress. Nigeria began 2025 ranked 44th globally and ends the year six places higher.
After early fluctuations, the team recorded a strong late surge, moving up four places in October and adding another three-place rise in November to settle at 38th.
On the continent, Morocco retained top spot at 11th globally, while Senegal stayed second in Africa. Spain finished the year as the world’s number one team.
