Ferdinand Slams Man United Over Missed Osimhen Signing

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has criticised the club’s transfer decisions, saying they missed a chance to sign Victor Osimhen last summer.

Speaking on his YouTube channel after United’s 2-2 draw with Leeds, Ferdinand highlighted that Benjamin Sesko has now gone 11 games without scoring, managing just two goals in 17 appearances. He believes Osimhen, currently at Galatasaray with 12 goals in 16 matches this season, would have been a far better fit.

Ferdinand also lamented United’s sale of Danny Welbeck to Arsenal in 2019, pointing out that at 35, Welbeck is having one of his best seasons with Brighton, netting eight goals.

The ex-defender argued that Sesko’s lack of experience and limited involvement in games has hindered United’s attacking output. He stressed that the club must correct its approach to transfers and give younger players more opportunities to handle the ball. Manchester United will next face Burnley at Turf Moor, hoping to end their goal drought and climb the league table.
