FAAC Boost: Gov Oborevwori Says States Now Get More Money

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has dismissed claims that state governments are financially constrained, revealing that allocations from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) have increased significantly.

Speaking at the groundbreaking of the ₦39.3 billion Otovwodo Flyover in Ughelli North, the governor said states now receive more funds and should channel the revenue into visible development projects. He stressed that there is no reason to hide the improved financial position from Nigerians.

According to Oborevwori, governors must use the increased allocations to improve living conditions and strengthen public trust in governance. He described the Otovwodo Flyover as a strategic infrastructure project that will ease traffic congestion and boost economic activities along the busy Warri–Asaba–Patani corridor.

The governor added that the project reflects his administration’s commitment to accountable, people-focused development, noting that improved infrastructure will reduce travel time, enhance safety, and support commerce across Delta State.
