Excel Nation Foundation Champions Menstrual Health and Confidence for Girls on 2025 International Day of the Girl Child

In celebration of the 2025 International Day of the Girl Child, Excel Nation Foundation for Community Awareness on Mental Health embarked on an inspiring outreach program across several secondary schools in Nigeria, spotlighting Menstrual Hygiene Management and Confidence Building among young girls.

The initiative sought to end the silence, myths, and misconceptions surrounding menstruation — a topic that often triggers shame and anxiety among adolescents. Through interactive sessions, the Foundation created safe spaces where girls could openly discuss menstrual health and mental well-being without fear or stigma.

Facilitators educated students on proper menstrual hygiene practices, the importance of self-care, and how confidence and mental health are interlinked. The sessions featured practical demonstrations, personal stories, and the distribution of sanitary materials — all aimed at promoting dignity and self-esteem.

Teachers and administrators praised the Foundation for tackling such a sensitive issue with compassion and clarity, particularly in underserved communities where access to menstrual education remains limited.

Speaking on the impact, the Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to empowering girls with knowledge and courage, ensuring they grow into mentally strong, self-assured women.

Excel Nation Foundation continues to champion community mental health awareness, believing that empowering the girl child is vital to building a balanced, confident, and mentally healthy society — one outreach at a time.
