Fulham and Super Eagles defender, Calvin Bassey, has openly admitted that Liverpool star Mohamed Salah remains the toughest player he has ever faced in the Premier League.
Speaking in a Sky Sports ‘Best Friend Test’ interview alongside fellow Nigerian international Alex Iwobi, Bassey described Salah as an “unbelievable baller” and one of the most dangerous forwards to defend against.
“Mohamed Salah is unbelievable. He is such a baller. When you get dragged out to defend him, you are in trouble,” Bassey explained.
The defender further revealed that Liverpool’s attacking style forces him to directly mark Salah.
“Obviously, when we play Liverpool, we usually go half man-for-man, so I will often face him directly. I have played against him twice, and he is always a handful.”
Bassey, who has become a key figure in Fulham’s defense, will now shift his focus as the London club prepares to face Aston Villa this weekend in another Premier League clash.
This revelation has further highlighted Salah’s reputation as one of the most feared attackers in the English top-flight, while showcasing Bassey’s growing experience against some of the world’s best footballers.
