“Enemies of Kano at Work” — APC Denies Deal With Gov Yusuf Over 2027 Ticket

The Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed reports alleging negotiations with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf over an automatic governorship ticket ahead of the 2027 elections.

Speaking in a telephone interview, the party’s Secretary, Alhaji Zakari Sarina, described the claims as false and misleading, blaming “enemies of Kano” for spreading rumours aimed at destabilising the state’s political atmosphere.

Sarina stated that the APC has never held discussions with Governor Yusuf regarding any automatic ticket arrangement, stressing that no secret meetings or assurances have taken place. While noting that the party remains open to welcoming the governor if he chooses to join, he insisted that such speculation should be ignored.

The APC official urged party members and residents to disregard unverified reports capable of creating unnecessary tension. He added that the party is focused on unity, governance and development, noting that talks about future political alignments remain speculative at this stage.
