Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has stirred reactions online after cautioning women against checking their husbands’ phones without consent.
The outspoken politician shared the advice via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, stressing that invading a partner’s privacy often leads to emotional distress and avoidable conflict.
According to Sani, not every truth uncovered in relationships is worth knowing, especially when trust and mutual understanding should form the foundation of marriage.
He emphasized that many heartbreaks and domestic disputes begin when one partner, out of curiosity or suspicion, goes through the other’s phone seeking “proof.”
In his words:
“If you cannot handle some truths, don’t go searching for them in this imperfect and temporary life. Don’t search the phone of your husband without his consent. When the Devil directs you to your husband’s phone, he wants to open your eyes and shut down your heart. Avoidable tragedies should be avoided!”
Sani’s message, which blends wisdom and humor, has sparked diverse opinions among social media users. While some applauded his counsel as a reminder to respect privacy, others argued that transparency should be mutual in relationships.
